Isabel's first canoe trip

We started our weekend in Anchorage due to some training Scott attended for work. Isabel enjoyed all the pillows in the hotel room.

After the training in Anchorage we headed up the road to lodging, closer to our canoe route. The hotel had a nice porch with a lake view. Isabel had a good time looking at the ducks in the lake and running around on the lawn.We had exceptionally beautiful weather for the entire weekend. We saw both Common and Arctic Loons and 3 different moose. Overall, Isabel wasn't a big fan of riding in the canoe; the life jacket wasn't very comfortable for her. Isabel enjoyed the portages more than the canoe; she got to take off the life jacket and ride on Jenny's back. We were able to get our gear across the portages with a total of 3 trips; one person would take Isabel in the pack and the day pack (as in picture), the other person would take the canoe then return for the big pack with most of our camping gear.
We stayed in Public Use Cabins along the route. They were nice to use when camping with a 9 month old. This one was on James Lake and it had a fabulous view! We saw a smaller bull moose swimming in the lake here. By the end of the trip Isabel was getting a little more comfortable in the canoe and her life jacket. She took a little nap in the canoe.

I loved all of the pictures. I cannot believe Isabel made the trip, and how old she looks. See you all soon, love ya.
