March 2011

March brought a great deal more snow making this season the 4th snowiest in MN with over 84 inches of snow total. Flooding is imminent. We are so excited for spring having moved back from Alaska. We are very eager for spring migration and enduring shorter winters. Naturally we would come back on such a snowy one! We still love snow though:) Jon and Christa finally had their twins this month, March 22nd! We're so happy to have more cousins for Breezy, Bell, and Elaina!.

Breezy with uncle Jonny's bear.

Oliver Michael Sobiech 4# 10oz.
Isabel tries her hand at golf in our yard. Who's afraid of a little snow?

Bell and Audrey making snow folk in our backyard.
The girls and I took a walk at Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge and made a little snow guy.
Isabel looks a lot like Uncle Jonny here.

So pretty!

January-Feb 2011

Another trip to Como Zoo (the zoo that Scott and I grew up going to).

Breezy modeling a hand knit sweater.

My cousin Scott, his wife Amber, and Scotty and I headed up to Elephant Lake (a place that my cousin's family and mine went to often as children), sans kids for a bit of skiing and fun.

I brought Isabel to Winterfest at Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge (where Scotty works).

Bell went into a quinzy hut like the ones Scott and I used to camp in at the Boundary Waters on Martin Luther King weekend.

Isabel checking out the pelts at winterfest.

Grandpa and Isabel with fresh caught walleyes.

Isabel has mixed emotions about spending time outdoors in the winter.

In January we spent some time in southern MN while Scott was in field training. We stayed in hotels and checked out the local sites.

The girls in the hotel in dueling frog pajamas.

Hand carved carousel at Lark Toys in Kellog MN.

National Eagle Center in Wabasha, MN.
Isabel pumped about eagles! :)
