We ventured out in the cold (6 degrees) for a little family walk and tried out yet another sling.

Here Jen is trying out Karen's fashionable sling, which Isabel showed her approval of by promptly falling asleep.

Isabel and daddy have had all they can take for one day.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Isabel is getting bigger. At last weigh-in she was up to 8 lbs. 12 0z. and 21 inches long.

After feeding, Isabel's preferred burping position is sitting up, however all that eating tends to make her sleepy.

Isabel's Visitors

Grandma Priscilla with Isabel.Isabel drove grandma to binge drinking
Godfather Jonny feeds his first bottle to Isabel.

Isabel shows Jonny how cute she looks in one of the outfits he and Christa brought for her.

Godmother Christa changed a good percentage of Isabel's diapers for us this week and got her dressed every day.

We left Jenny and Isabel home alone one afternoon for some Mommy/Daughter bonding time and drove south to Cantwell to get a view of the Mountain. We also saw moose, caribou, and a pair of wolves.

Grandma gave Isabel her first tub bath. Isabel seemed to enjoy the experience, she sat there quietly.

Sleeping Beauty

Isabel takes a nap on the bed.
For the grandmas that worry that Isabel is going to freeze on the house to car trip, we got a nice and cozy car seat cover.

This is Isabel's frog butt outfit.

Play Group

Isabel participated in her first offical Play Group with Jake, although he did most of the playing and Isabel mostly slept.

Isabel has been enjoying all her naps throughout most of the day. This picture was captured during one of her few open eyed moments while enjoying her new quilt from Great Aunt Linda.

Scott tried out a baby wrap that was used to bring Isabel on a walk. She rode under Scotts big wool coat staying nice and toasty.

Isabel's first thorough sponge bath

We're back at home again, after another trip to Fairbanks for Isabel's 4th little heel prick/blood draw. Thankfully that should do it for awhile since her bilirubin level went down and the Dr. is satisfied.

Here Isabel is modeling one of the outfits from grandma Priscilla.

Isabel goes home

We were released from the hospital on Thursday, however due to a little jaundice issue we decided to stay in Fairbanks that night so that Isabel could have the bilirubin levels in her blood checked the next day. Although she looks a bit suspicious of the car seat in the photo, she did well in it. On Friday the blood test results were good enough for us to take her home for the weekend, so we headed south.
The dogs didn't seem too concerned about the arrival of Isabel. They gave her a couple sniffs and seem a little interested when she makes little chipmunk chirps.
After a long night of night owling followed by a long morning of also not sleeping, Isabel finally falls asleep on the quilt that her great grandma Irene made for her.

She was 7 lbs 12 0z. Jen was in labor for 29 hours and for those who were worried about the road-side birth we got to Fairbanks with about 24 hours to spare.

Still Waiting

We are still waiting for Isabel to make her appearance. The above photo is Jenny the day before her due date. We went to a Halloween Party and Jenny practiced making cute cupcakes in preparation for motherhood.
